Molden

These magnificent 1118 meters of altitude can be reached both from the fjord in Marifjøra or from Krossen at 500 meters above sea level. If you are an early bird, you can catch the sunrise from Molden over Jotunheimen at 04:00, before you easily have breakfast here at Walaker Hotell with us!

From the parking lot at Krossen, you will find where the trail begins. Halfway there you will come to Svarthiller, which is an old stable. From Svarthiller you have a great view of Urnes on the other side of the fjord, as well as beyond the fjord.

From Svarthiller the trail turns 90 degrees and goes in a steep meander past steep cliffs. Then the terrain flattens out and it is reasonably easy to reach the summit cairn at Molden, 1118 meters above sea level. Here you have a full 360-degree view of most of Luster and the surrounding municipalities.
