Main Building

The main house at Walaker Hotell dates back to the 1630s and is a central element in the hotel's rich history. The building houses the reception, several dining rooms and seven historic guest rooms, two of which are classified as the best historic rooms. These rooms, located on the second floor with views of the fjord, mountains or the hotel area, are accessible via stairs from the entrance.

The dining rooms in the Main House include the restaurant, the glass veranda and the lounge. The restaurant, the largest of these, is located in the original part of the house and can accommodate up to 64 guests for larger events. The glass veranda, with access to the garden, is used for breakfast and dinner, and can also function as a private room for medium-sized groups. The lounge, located inside the fireplace room, offers an intimate atmosphere for up to eight people.

For all guests, the lounge is a common living room, especially inviting in spring and autumn when the fireplace is lit. Here you can relax with a good book or a glass of drink, while enjoying the warmth and historical atmosphere. For those interested in music, a piano is available.

The outdoor area at the Main House is also designed for the well-being of its guests. A small veranda at the entrance offers a great view of the fjord and Ornes, while the garden in front of the hotel offers furniture that can be moved according to the sun, so that you can enjoy the fine weather all day. On the terrace outside the glass veranda, you can have breakfast in the morning sun, and the gazebo is lit up every evening, and provides space for seven people who want an atmospheric end to the day.
